Disability Pride Washington

    On Tuesday, July 14, 2027, Disability Pride came to Washington, Pennsylvania, as Voices for Independence and Pennsylvania Disability Pride teamed up to host Disability Pride Washington at the Main Street Pavilion. Kyle Glozier Studios was on site to document the event, the community, and the advocacy behind it. Why This Event Matters Disability Pride isn’t just a celebration — it’s a statement. It’s about visibility, culture, and the right to live in the community with the supports we need. The festival highlighted programs and services across Western Pennsylvania that help disabled people live independently, in line with the principles of Olmsted v. L.C. (1999) , the Supreme Court decision affirming that disabled people have the right to receive services in the most integrated setting possible.
