Hope at 40

  12/1/2025 Sunday was my 40 th birthday.  It just so happened to be the First Sunday in Advent.  The theme of Hope is present today as we wait and prepare for the coming of the Messiah.  As I reflect on the last ten years of my life, I find that I am less hopeful than I was in my thirties or even in my twenties. I am still in the same apartment but I am continuing to try to spread joy and happiness as well as the truth.  Working on my internet presence has been more of a priority.   I find that I have been lacking in my blogging. As I enter this next chapter of my life, I hope I am just as healthy as I have been.  It is my hope to remain just as healthy as ever.  It is also my hope that I can still grow and explore both myself and the world.  I hope that equality is able to spread throughout the land because, without hope, we are only chasing false gods that would only lead to our destruction.     Looking forward, I asp...

No Kings Rally--10/18/25

  “If tomorrow all the things were gone that I have worked for throughout my life, and I had to start again with just my children and my wife.” That is the first line of God Bless the USA, one of the most patriotic songs I have ever heard.   Throughout my time as an activist, I keep reflecting on this, even now in 2025.   These words were first sung by Lee Greenwood, and should be remembered by all Americans; that we might have differing views, but one thing is clear, we didn’t bow down to King George III of England, and we certainly will not bow down to the former reality host of the Celebrity Apprentice.   Want to know why I wanted to be at my local No Kings Day protest?   Because the cuts to Medicaid, specifically the cuts to home and community-based services to me continue to live independently weighed heavily. Conversion Therapy needs to stay illegal

  A few years ago, conservatives celebrated the very disheartening decision from the United States Supreme Court that stripped away a woman’s right to choose.   Now the court is set to reinstate the controversial practice of conversion therapy for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and transgender youth.   This not only goes against the First and Fourteenth amendments of the United States Constitution but is a human rights violation according to the United Nations. No court should allow this torture disguised as “therapy” exist in a developed nation that prides itself on not only accepting but embracing its differences. Conversion “therapy” is the barbaric idea that you could take an LGBT person and turn them straight by at best, talking to them or worst, using rubber band snapping, Chemical, or electrical stimuli (i.e. shock).   Various religious groups, who bastardized the Holy Bible, say this is an effective way to cure homosexuality, while human rights organizations call ...
